X-Forces Founder recognised in Birthday Honours

The founder and CEO of X-Forces, Ren Kapur, has been recognised

by Her Majesty in the Queen’s Birthday 2016 Honours List.

Ren Kapur’s service to Entrepreneurship is rewarded with an MBE.

Martin Wing, X-Forces Chairman, said

“I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Ren Kapur for her recognition by Her Majesty The Queen in the Birthday Honours list.

“In a short period of time, Ren has established X-Forces as an effective service that has changed the outlook for the Armed Forces community, validated by government departments and valued by the charity and corporate partners.  Her indefatigable passion for enterprise and improving prospects has won credibility and respect in a male-dominated environment, whilst inspiring her team.”

Ren Kapur said

“I feel both elated and humbled to have received recognition in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, amongst some tremendous public figures.

“The Cabinet Office’s letter took me completely by surprise when I found out I had received the honour, and it’s been a challenge not to share my joy with those close to me.

“The last three years have been incredibly hard work and, together with our many valued partners that have pledged their support to our vision, we have achieved the primary aim of breaking down barriers and offering this high-potential community a route into the enterprise.

“I share this honour with my devoted team and now, with this recognition at the very highest level, our commitment to advancing X-Forces is further energised.  Hitherto we have just scratched the surface of what the Armed Forces community could achieve.”

Ren Kapur founded X-Forces in July 2013, having identified that the military focus and tenacity was ideally suited to business leadership.  Drawing on her sales and marketing background, Ren Kapur started social enterprise X-Forces to nurture this potential and help Britain’s military communities.  Three years on, she has helped more than 600 new businesses to launch, facilitated over six million pounds in government Start-Up Loans and shifted the military transition landscape permanently.

The Queen’s Birthday Honours list pays tribute to the achievements and service of people who have made significant contributions to society and to improving the lives of others. Since 1891, the honours have been announced each year on the monarch’s official birthday.
