Lord Digby Jones Pledges Support to X-Forces

On Tuesday 9 January 2018, Lord Digby Jones visited the X-Forces offices in Birmingham, where he met with the team and pledged his support as a member of the X-Forces Advisory Board and a business mentor.

Lordy Digby Jones, former Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) and Minister of State for Trade and Investment, has a wealth of experience in business.  He has been an active and vocal ambassador for trade and industry for many years, occupying roles such as Senior Adviser to Triumph Motorcycles, Thatcher’s Cider (he chairs both companies), AON & Babcock International among others, and most recently as a business owner himself.  He is also a keen supporter of the Armed Forces, having served in the Royal Navy from 1974-77. It was from this time that he learnt to value the importance of leadership, teamwork and constant communication.

Ren Kapur MBE, CEO and Founder of X-Forces, first met Lord Digby Jones several years ago.  They were reunited during a recent engagement at the Officers’ Association Annual Dinner, when they started discussions about him supporting X-Forces.

Commenting on his support, Lord Digby Jones said,

I feel delighted and privileged to be supporting X-Forces, an organisation that does so much to help the Armed Forces community and their families. It is amazing to see what X-Forces has already achieved in the past four years and I am very excited to be a part of its future.

Ren Kapur agreed, saying

We are absolutely honoured and humbled to have Lord Digby Jones on board. The wealth of experience he will no doubt bring to X-Forces and our businesses is fantastic. He has also pledged to help form an external advisory board, and he is already discussing this with the X-Forces board.
